India skipper Virat Kohli could not resist meeting Charulata Patel, an 87-year-old Indian fan, at Edgbaston, in Birmingham, during India's World Cup match against Bangladesh on Tuesday.
The 87-year old caught everyone's eye as she ardently rooted for the Indian team when they were batting.
Kohli, after meeting Patel at the end of the match, described her as one of the most passionate and dedicated fans he has ever seen, and shared a picture on Twitter.
"Also would like to thank all our fans for all the love & support & especially Charulata Patel ji. She's 87 and probably one of the most passionate & dedicated fans I've ever seen. Age is just a number, the passion takes you leaps & bounds. With her blessings, on to the next one," Kohli tweeted.
India went on to win the match by 28 runs.
Following the victory, India sealed a semi-final spot. With 13 points they consolidated second position on the points' table.
India will meet Sri Lanka next, on July 6.
