Pakistan, Australia plan ODI series in UAE

February 04, 2009 21:42 IST

Pakistan and Australia have agreed to play a five-match one-day series and a Twenty20 game at neutral venues in the United Arab Emirates in April and May, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ejaz Butt said on Wednesday.

Australia pulled out of their scheduled Test and one-day tour to Pakistan last year due to security concerns. The limited over series was part of the original itinerary.

"Cricket Australia is still keen to come and play in Pakistan but they have not got clearance from their government for security reasons," Butt said.

"So we have agreed to have the five one-day matches and the Twenty20 game in Abu Dhabi and Dubai."
