Twin tons by openers Tanmay Srivastava and Mukul Dagar helped Uttar Pradesh make a strong reply to Maharashtra's mammoth total of 764 for six declared, reaching 287 for one on day three of their Group B Ranji Trophy match in Pune on Sunday.

When stumps were drawn, Srivastava was unbeaten on 134 off 232 balls and veteran Mohammad Kaif was giving him company on 23.
Dagar got out after scoring 126 off 197 balls at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium.
While Srivastava hit 18 fours and a six during his 331-minute stay at the crease, Dagar struck 22 fours while staying in middle for 282 minutes.
In pursuit of Maharashtra's massive total, Uttar Pradesh made a solid start with their openers putting on 248 runs for the first wicket in 67.3 overs.
Both Srivastava and Dagar looked at ease and played some delightful shots during their association, with the former continuing in similar fashion after his opening partner's dismissal.
Earlier, Kedar Jadhav knocked the stuffing out of Uttar Pradesh bowlers en route to a monumental 312-ball 327. Incidentally, Jadhav was the only host bowler to have tasted success having picked a wicket of Dagar.
They were 738 for five overnight and lost Rohit Motwani (147) early.
Piyush Chawla was the most successful bowler for Uttar Pradesh as he picked three wickets, though he conceded 233 runs in his 51 overs.

Baroda consolidate against Vidarbha
Abhimanyu Chauhan and Rakesh Solanki slammed centuries as Baroda consolidated their position by posting a massive 514 for seven declared on the third day of their Group B Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha.
Chauhan scored 118 off 291 balls while Solanki made 120 off 293 deliveries.
While Chauhan hit 16 fours and a six during his 417-minute stay in the middle, Solanki found the fence 15 times and cleared it once while staying at the crease for 445 minutes.
Shortly after declaring their innings, Baroda were rewarded with the wicket of Anniruddha Chore when stumps were drawn for the day.
At close of play, Vidarbha were three for no loss.
Baroda had bundled out Vidarbha for 264 at the Moti Bagh Stadium on Saturday.
Resuming on an overnight score of 192 for two, Baroda largely rode on the third wicket stand of 190 runs between Chauhan and Solanki.
Vidarbha are trailing by 247 runs with nine wickets remaining.
