Nepal registered a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over Malaysia to lift the Asian Cricket Council Under-19 Cup at the Tribhuvan University ground in Kathmandu.

Nepal's third straight triumph over Malaysia in the finals of the championship saw them book a berth in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2006.

Chasing an easy target of 84 runs to win, Nepal romped home in 25.3 overs with seven wickets in hand.

B Bataju, who was declared the man of the match, ran through the Malaysian innings, picking five wickets for 29 runs after Nepal put the visitors in.

He was ably supported by A Bhattarai, who returned figures of 2 for 36.

The Malaysian batsmen failed miserably with the bat as E Aziz (17) turned out to be the top-scorer for them. They were bundled out for a paltry 83 in 25.5 overs.

For the hosts, P Phadka scored an unbeaten 21 off 22 balls while opener K Chaugai scored a cautious 20 off 34 balls, inclusive of three hits to the fence.
