Morgan Deane Smith, stylish wife of former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith, auditioned for the latest season on MNet’s South Africa’s Idols. Her audition aired on the show this week.
The 30-year-old stunner WAG is no amateur singer. She was seen eight years ago in X Factor, Glasgow, and was part of a pop group, Industry.
Before meeting Graeme, Morgan was part of the music industry in her home country, Ireland.
"When I got married I had my two babies straightaway and so I haven’t been singing since,” the beauty explained on the show. “But all of a sudden I woke up a few weeks ago and I was like, ‘What’s stopping me?’ ”
Morgan took to Twitter to thank her well-wishers.
"Thank u for all the awesome messages. Being a part of idols was an education, not in music, but an education," she posted.
Her musical aspirations have Smith's backing.
"I’m supportive of whatever Morgan wants to do. She's loved music her whole life. She’s been there for me and the kids for the last part of my career, and if she wants to sing and she wants to have fun then so be it," he said.
The now-retired from international cricket Smith was influenced by his family in taking the decision.
