Former India captain Mohammed Azharuddin's son Asaduddin took his first major steps in his cricketing career when he was on Friday named in the Uttar Pradesh One Day squad for the forthcoming Vijay Hazare trophy.

The youngster had appeared for trials a week back following which he was selected.
Asaduddin also gave trials for various Indian Premier League franchises including Kolkata Knight Riders back in 2009 without much success.
The squad will led by leg-spinner Piyush Chawla and also includes former India pacer Praveen Kumar along with young spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
Former captain Mohammed Kaif had quit UP in July after 16 years. He joined Andhra for the upcoming domestic season.
