Maharashtra Cricket Association had lodged a complaint with IPL authorities against Kings XI Punjab team for allegedly damaging the dressing room during their match against Pune Warriors on Sunday.
In their complaint to the IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla, MCA officials said that Kings XI Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist had broken the dressing room door in a fit of rage after being dismissed for just six runs.
As per the procedure for such incidents, Shukla forwarded the complaint to the match referee for disciplinary action.
But after preliminary inquiries, it was found that the damage was caused by Paul Valthaty and not by Gilchrist, according to IPL sources.
Valthaty, however, escaped any punishment as the damage was caused accidentally and not intentionally.
Kings XI Punjab had lost the match by 22 runs and Gilchrist (6) and Valthaty (1) did not contribute much with the bat.
