Playing his first international match in over six months following an injury lay-off, Tendulkar laid the foundation for the huge total along with Irfan Pathan (83), before Rahul Dravid took charge, scoring a 63-ball unbeaten 85.
Tendulkar's 96-ball effort was studded with two sixes and nine fours.
India registered its highest ever total at the venue, overhauling New Zealand's earlier mark of 348 for 8 against the hosts in 1995-96.
