The 25-year-old Carter dominated the West Indies innings, smashing the Indian attack to all corners of the ground, in an impressive 133 off 132 balls, to lift West Indies 'A' to 279 for 6.
In reply, the hosts were bowled out for 224 in 48.4 overs, pacer Miguel Cummins destroying the Indian batting with figures of four for 31 in ten overs.
Carter took two for 33.
Captain Yuvraj Singh, who hit a century in the first match, top scored for India 'A' with a fluent 40 while opener Unmukt Chand scored a patient 38 from 72 balls, but the rest of the batsmen failed to carry on after getting good starts.
Earlier, Carter took his time in establishing control on a pitch that offered good bounce for the bowlers but was productive for batsmen willing to be patient.
He plundered 18 fours and two sixes as his hundred came after he was dropped on six Yusuf Pathan.
During the course of the knock, he shared a couple of fruitful partnerships -- 79 for the third wicket with Kirk Edwards (36) and 131 runs for the fifth wicket with Leon Johnson (39).
Carter attacked the Indian bowlers relentlessly and the West Indies reached 200 in the 43rd over.
Medium pacer Jaydev Unadkat finally dismissed him, trapping him leg before.
Choosing to bowl first, Indian seamer Vinay Kumar struck twice early on, dismissing openers Andre Fletcher (15) and captain Kieran Powell (4) to leave the visitors reeling at 21 for two after 8.4 overs.
Vinay made good use of the new ball and had a delivery swing sharply moving away from the left-handed Powell, who was rooted on the backfoot and edged one to Naman Ojha behind the stumps.
He also snared up Fletcher, who tried to pull a deliberate short-pitched ball only to give a comfortable catch to Ojha.
However, Edwards and Carter steadied the ship thereafter. Both looked to hit down the ground and picked runs at ease as the 100 runs came up in 27.1 overs.
Edwards was careful in his shot-selection and smashed three boundaries off Vinay's fourth over. However, he fell to a smart piece of bowling from Yusuf Pathan, who had him stumped for 36 off 58 balls with four boundaries and a six.
The West Indies suffered another blow almost immediately when Andre Russell (12) played an ill-advised lofted shot and was caught by Sumit Narwal at wide long-on off Pathan, leaving the visitors at 112 for four.
Vinay finished with figures of three for 56 and Yusuf snared two for 61.
Unadkat bagged a wicket for 57 runs.
