Pune Warriors were penalized for a slow over rate during their Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.
Pune Warriors were assessed to be one over behind the required rate after allowances were taken into consideration at the end of the match.
As this was captain Sourav Ganguly's second slow over rate offence of this year's IPL, he was fined $40,000, while each of the other 10 members of the playing eleven were fined the lesser of $10,000 or 25 per cent of their match fees.
Meanwhile, batsman Steven Smith received an official warning and reprimand for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct.
Smith admitted the Level 1 offence (Article 2.1.3) of showing dissent at an umpire's decision during the ninth over of the Pune Warriors' innings.
For Level 1 breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct, the match referee's decision is final and binding.
Pune Warriors lost to Kolkata by seven runs to slump to their fifth straight defeat in the tournament.
