Deccan Chargers captain Kumar Sangakkara has been fined $20,000 for his teams slow over rate during last night's IPL match against Pune Warriors.
At the end of the match, Deccan Chargers were assessed to be one over behind the required rate after allowances were taken into consideration.
Since it was his first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Sangakkara was fined $S20,000, an IPL release said.
Deccan Chargers beat Pune Warriors by 18 runs to post their first win of this IPL edition.
