Chennai Super Kings's dashing batsman Suresh Raina leads the batting charts in the Indian Premier League with a tally of 2254 runs in 81 matches, while Kolkata Knight Riders' captain Gautam Gambhir follows him closely with 2065 runs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore's Chris Gayle destroyed all the bowlers in the fifth edition of the IPL; he hammered 733 runs at an average of 61 and an amazing strike rate of 160.
The record for the highest individual innings in the IPL is held by New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum, who smashed a record 158 off just 73 balls in the first match of the tournament in 2008.
