"Kings XI Punjab announces M Vijay as the captain for Kings XI Punjab for the remaining part of the IPL 2016 tournament. David Miller continues to be an integral part of the team and is a very strong player of the squad," the team said in a statement.
Punjab, who are set to face table-toppers Gujarat Lions, on Sunday, in Rajkot, are currently lying at the bottom of the heap with just two points in their kitty.
Miller has had a tough time scoring just 76 runs in six innings even though his strike-rate stands at 129.
Vijay, on the other hand, has been among the runs and has notched up 143 so far in six innings.
