Ganguly leads from the front

Captain Sourav Ganguly led from the front to ensure his Kolkata Knight Riders side a comfortable 14-run win over Delhi Daredevils at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old hit his sixth IPL fifty to help his side reach a formidable 181 for three in their stipulated 20 overs.

Ganguly's 46-ball 56 was inclusive of eight fours and one six and he also put on 94 runs for the opening wicket with Chris Gayle (40 from 21 balls) which laid the foundation for the win.

He helped the Knight Riders get to the 100-run mark by the 11th over - the fastest the team had reached the mark.

However, Vettori, having smashed for 15 by Dada in his first over came back and atoned, dismissing Ganguly with a nicely looped delivery to rattle the latter's stumps.

He also ran out his opposite number, Gautam Gambhir (47) at a crucial stage when Delhi seemed to be cruising, and took an important catch.

Ganguly was named the man-of-the-match for his efforts.
