Top performer: Mathews stars for KKR again
March 14, 2010

Angelo Mathews was again the hero for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Sri Lankan, who was named man-of-the-match for his all-round efforts against the Deccan Chargers on Friday, returned a four-wicket haul to help his side restrict Royal Challengers Bangalore to a paltry 135 for seven in their IPL match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.

Knight Riders went on top overhaul the small total easily and win the match by seven wickets.

Mathews got his first wicket in only his third ball when Manish Pandey (0) dragged one onto his stumps.

He later cleaned up Rahul Dravid (21) to reduce the threat of a potential RCB comeback.

The Sri Lankan added two more scalps to his kitty when he had Robin Uthappa (20) caught behind and Roelof van der Merwe (1) caught by Brad Hodge in his last over.

Matthews's bowling figures read thus: 4-01-19-4.

The 22-year-old had made a 46-ball 65 not out against Deccan Chargers in the opening match of the tournament, a knock that included five boundaries and four sixes.

He also finished with one for 27 in four overs.
