A dominant India posted a mammoth 622/9 declared in the first innings before they dismissed both the Sri Lankan openers early to take control on Day 2 of the second Test in Colombo on Friday, August 4.
Cheteshwar Pujara (133) and Ajinkya Rahane (132) hit centuries while Ravindra Jadeja smashed an unbeaten 70 with Ravichandran Ashwin (54) and Wriddhiman Saha (67) contributing with half centuries to lift India to the huge total.
Sri Lanka made a feeble reply to finish day two on 50/2 at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground with Ashwin claiming both wickets.
51 Number of Tests Ravichandran Ashwin took to complete the all-round double of 2,000 runs and 200 wickets.
Only three players -- Ian Botham (42), Kapil Dev (50) and Imran Khan (50) -- accomplished this feat in fewer matches.

622 India's total -- the highest total by any side against Sri Lanka on Sri Lankan soil in the first innings of a Test.
Incidentally, India's 600 at Galle in the first Test was the previous highest such total.
