England pace bowler Tim Bresnan has been ruled out of the rest of the One-Day series against Australia with a torn calf muscle and will return home for rehabilitation, though he is expected to be fit for the World Cup, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Sunday.
Bresnan suffered the injury in the second One-Day match on Friday in Hobart, which England lost by 46 runs, and did not play the third game in Sydney on Sunday.
Chris Woakes made his debut for England in the match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, which Australia won by four wickets to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Steve Finn would remain with the squad for the remainder of the one-day series, which moves to Adelaide for the fourth match on Wednesday, the ECB added.
