Indian cricketers are all set to be draped by top Italian fashion house Canali who have offered to design stylish traveling clothes for the senior team.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has received an offer from the 72-year-old company, based in Sovico near Milan, to dress up the senior Indian team and it is interested in the proposal, Board secretary Niranjan Shah said.
"They (Canali) have shown interest and made an offer to us. We have also shown interest and the matter will now be decided by the Marketing Committee which will meet on July 15," he told PTI on Thursday.
The Italian fashion house, which specialises in sportswear for men, has offered to provide the Indian team traveling suits and accessories. Their clothesline ranges from anything between Rs. 70,000 and upwards.
"They make world class clothing and will definitely make our players look smarter," Shah said.
If the BCCI approves the proposal, the Indian team will be seen clad in the elite brand at the Champions Trophy to be hosted by the country in October-November.
As per the proposal, Canali would provide jackets, trousers, shirts, ties and other accessories, including shoes for the players.
"The Australian and English teams flaunt some big brands, so the Indian team would be joining them," Shah said.
