Former captain Kapil Dev on Friday said there is no reason why India cannot win the forthcoming series in England but warned the team against getting complacent.
"The team should not relax and should concentrate on each and every aspect," Kapil insisted.
The former fast bowler hailed India's victory in the Caribbean but reiterated that the team should have won with a bigger margin.
"It would have been better if India had won the West Indies series 2-0, but then the team has won it," Kapil told reporters on the sideline of a function in Lucknow.
Emphasising upon the role of players in administration, Kapil said their induction can help the sport grow in proper direction.
"I never said politicians should not be there. I don't have an issue with politicians or businessmen, my only contention is that those who have played the game should come in," Kapil said while referring to the MCA elections.
On his support to former colleague and contestant, Dilip Vengsarkar, Kapil said, "He (Vengsarkar) has played with me and I know his abilities, therefore, my support is with him," he said.
