Australia's David Warner, on Friday, completed 1000 runs in 2014 en route his century in the second innings of the first cricket Test against India in Adelaide, becoming the first opener to achieve the feat since England skipper Alastair Cook in 2012.
The left-handed Warner achieved the milestone in the first session of Day 4 at the Adelaide Oval as Australia consolidated their overall lead.
The batsman was bowled by Karn Sharma after 102, laced with 11 fours and a six.
In the process, the 28-year-old became the fifth batsman to complete Test 1000 runs in 2014.
The other four are Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara (1486 runs), Angelo Mathews (1201), Mahela Jayawardene (1003 runs) and veteran Pakistan batsman Younis Khan, who has 1213 runs.
Warner has enjoyed a dreamy form, scoring a brisk 145 in the first innings of the ongoing Test match against India.
Warner has already scored eight half centuries in the last 11 Test innings, giving ample evidence of the imperious form that he is in.
