Kohli slipped a rung, but is still the best-placed Indian batsman at No 4, while skipper Dhoni lost two places.
Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina are the other Indians among the top-20 batsmen.
Even though Rohit has lost three places in dropping to No. 16, Raina climbed four to No. 20
Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara, currently the leading run-scorer in the ongoing World Cup with 268 runs, moved up two places, joining South Africa's Hashim Amla in second place.
The batting table is headed by South Africa captain AB de Villiers, with 49 ratings points.
Among the bowlers, India pacer Mohammad Shami and spinner Ravichandaran Ashwin rose. While Shami gained as many as 14 places and is ranked No 11, Ashwin's eight wickets in the World Cup so far enabled him climb six spots to 16th.
In fact, there's a major reshuffle in the rankings at the end of 23 pool matches in the World Cup.
While Indians failed to find a place among the top-10 bowlers, both Shami and Ashwin's progress is significant.
However, the injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja lost four places each and are place 17th and 18th.
The bowlers' list is still topped by Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal, even though he is not a part of the squad in the ongoing mega-event in Australia and New Zealand.
In the team rankings, Australia continue to lead the field with 120 ratings points, while World champions India are second, four points behind.
South Africa, on 113 ratings points, are third, and Sri Lanka fourth.
Following New Zealand's four victories in as many matches and England's three defeats in four games, the two sides swapped places. New Zealand is now fifth, just one ratings point behind Sri Lanka, while England are now sixth, eight rating points ahead of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Jadeja retained seventh place in the ODI all-rounders' table, which is now headed by Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan, who became No 1, having aggregated 229 runs and taken three wickets in the World Cup so far.
