Stats: Ryan McLaren tops wicket-takers chart

Statistical highlights of a Group B ODI match of the ICC Champions Trophy between Pakistan and South Africa in Birmingham on Monday night.

# Ryan McLaren (4/19) has registered his best bowling figures in ODIs -- his third occasion of four wickets in an innings.

# McLaren's aforesaid figures are the second best by a South African bowler against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy -- the best being Ntini's five for 21 at Mohali on October 27, 2006.

# McLaren, with 25 wickets (ave.19.20)in eleven ODIs, is the top wicket-taker in 2013.

# South Africa (234/9) have posted their highest total against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy, eclipsing the 213 for eight at Mohali on October 27, 2006.

# Colin Ingram and Hashim Amla have added 53 -– South Africa's highest partnership for the first wicket against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy.

# Amla and Pessis have shared a partnership of 69 –- South Africa's highest second-wicket stand against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy.

# In South Africa's innings, four run-outs were registered, equalling a record in the ICC Champions Trophy. The first such instance was recorded in India's innings of 307 for eight against Australia at Dhaka on October 28, 1998.

# The first team to have lost ten matches in the ICC Champions Trophy is Pakistan. They have won seven out of seventeen played.

# Pakistan have lost both their matches to South Africa in the ICC Champions Trophy -- by 124 runs at Mohali on October 27, 2006 and by 67 runs at Birmingham on June 10, 2013.

# For the first time in the ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan have lost four consecutive games -- two each in 2009 and 2013.

# Hashim Amla's brilliant innings is the highest by a South African batsman against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy, eclipsing the 69 off 98 balls by Mark Boucher at Mohali on October 27, 2006.

# Amla (81 off 97 balls) has recorded his first fifty in the ICC Champions Troph. His 20th half-century in ODIs is his third against Pakistan.

# Amla has got his third Man-of-the-Match award against Pakistan -- his twelfth overall in ODIs.

# Abraham de Villiers has set a record. He is the fastest to 1000 runs in only 21 innings against Pakistan. His superb average of 63.81 is the highest amongst the batsmen with 1000 runs or more vs Pakistan in ODIs, totalling 1021 runs in 21 innings, including two hundreds and eight fifties.

# On his ODI debut, Chris Morris has bowled magnificently, taking two for 25 off his seven overs.

# Pakistan could make 18 for two -- the lowest by a team in the first ten overs in the ICC Champions Trophy.

# Nasir Jamshed (42 off 76 balls) has posted his highest score against South Africa in ODIs.

# Misbah-ul-Haq (55) has recorded his 25th fifty in ODIs -- his third vs South Africa.

# Haq became the second batsman to manage 500 runs in ODIs in 2013 -- his tally is 526 in twelve matches at an average of 58.44, including five fifties. Ian Bell, with 582 (ave.52.90) in twelve matches, is the top run-scorer.
