Shailendra Gaikwad, the sacked CEO of Rendezvous Consortium that won the IPL's Kochi franchise, on Wednesday said he had not invested in the venture and was connected with the team only on an administrative level.
"I am involved and connected with the team as an administrator to implement good ideas for cricket. I have nothing to do with the investment," Gaikwad said in Solapur.
"Neither me nor my family have any equity share in the Kochi team", he said.
Gaikwad said he enjoyed good relations with some cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar but it was due to his interest in cricket.
"Money does not matter. I have good relations even with Pakistani batsman Zaheer Abbas," he added.
