Contrary to speculation that his wings may be clipped, IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi is in Dubai to attend an International Cricket Council meeting on behalf of BCCI president Shashank Manohar.

Modi landed in Dubai for the meeting, which would also be attended by ICC vice-president Sharad Pawar and ICC principal adviser IS Bindra.

"I have no difference with Shashank Manohar and I have been asked to attend the ICC meeting (on his behalf)," Modi explained when asked to comment about reports that Manohar is unhappy with his role in IPL.

Modi is in the eye of a storm after his public spat with Minister of State fro External Affairs Shashi Tharoor over the ownership of the IPL Kochi franchise and there is a section within the cricket board which doesn't approve of his way of functioning.

Nomination for ICC vice-president, new Future Tours Programme (2012-20) and 2012 Under-19 World Cup are in the agenda for the ICC meeting.

Once the meeting is over, Modi will return to Bangalore for the IPL semi-final matches on April 21 and 22.

Modi, meanwhile, assured fans that IPL has approached the authorities to ensure their safety following the blasts in Bangalore on Saturday.

"We have taken up the issue with the highest authorities and security will be tight," Modi said.
