Pakistan Hugh Commissioner Abdul Basit is hopeful that arch rivals India and Pakistan will meet in the final of the ICC World Twenty20 in Kolkata on April 3.
"I hope both teams (India and Pakistan) will be playing in the finals," Basir, who was speaking at the Aaj Tak Agenda said on Saturday.
India and Pakistan will meet at the group league stage in Dharamsala on March 19.
Till date, Pakistan have never been able to beat India in a World T20 match across five editions.
The High Commissioner is still hopeful that the proposed Indo-Pak bilateral cricket series will take place. The Indian government is yet to give its go-ahead in the matter.
"We expect that there will be positive response," Basit added.
