Heavy overnight rain in Visakhapatnam hampered the practice sessions of the India and New Zealand teams ahead of their first Twenty20 International on Saturday.
Both teams were scheduled to practice at the ACA-VDCA stadium on Thursday but due to a wet outfield caused due to incessant rain the organisers cancelled the net sessions, forcing the players to remain confined to their hotel rooms.
As per the original schedule, the Kiwis were scheduled to practice from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, while the Indians were to
hit the nets at 2:00pm.
The Indian and New Zealand teams had arrived in the city on Wednesday.
The two teams will play two T20 matches, with the second match in Chennai on September 11.
