South African pacers Nantie Hayward and Johan van der Wath have returned to mainstream cricket under the auspices of CSA after terminating their "rebel" Indian Cricket League contracts.

Hayward and Van der Wath have now joined Justin Kemp as players who have complied with Cricket South Africa's amnesty conditions for ICL players, CSA CEO Gerald Majola said on Wednesday.

The International Cricket Council had ruled that it would accept the ICL players and officials if they terminated their contracts and said there should be a "cooling off" period between the termination of the contract and the resumption of official cricket and left it to member countries to decide on the appropriate time line.

Majola said CSA had accepted this and introduced a six-month "cooling off" period from the time of the player's last appearance in the ICL provided he had terminated his ICL contract and franchises would be able to contract players in terms of the current Memorandum of Understanding or on a pay-for-play basis.

"Players must terminate their contracts by 31 May 2009 if they wish to be eligible to play in next year's Champions League or Indian Premier League. Nantie Hayward and Johan van der Wath have met these conditions and are now eligible to play under CSA auspices after the six-month cooling off period," Majola said.

"Hayward, Van der Wath and Kemp are all high-level products of CSA's system, and we are glad that they have decided to rejoin," he added.
