Harbhajan to lead Punjab in Ranji tie vs Odisha

October 25, 2013 16:08 IST

Harbhajan Singh will lead Punjab in the Ranji Trophy match against Odisha at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium in Mohali, from October 27 to 30.

It is a good opportunity for the out-of-favour India off-spinner to impress the selectors, particularly Vikram Rathore, who is expected to be present for the match.

The Odisha team arrived in the city on Friday morning and had a net session in the afternoon under the watchful eyes of coach Debashish Mohanty, after the Punjab squad was put through their paces by coach Bhupinder Singh Sr earlier in the day.

Harbhajan said he still has a lot of fire left in him and is eager to make a comeback to the national squad.

Punjab squad: Harbhajan Sngh (Captain), Uday Kaul (wicketkeeper), Ravi Inder Singh, Jiwanjot Singh, Mandeep Singh, Mayank Sidana, Amitoze Singh, Sandeep Sharma, Manpreet Gony, Siddharth Kaul, Rajwinder Singh, Sunny Sohal, V R V Singh, Taruwar Kohli and Gurkirat Singh Mann.
