June 02, 2010 16:52 IST

Tamil Nadu all-rounder Chandrasekar Ganapathy will replace Karnataka speedstar Abhimanyu Mithun in the India 'A' team that is currently on a month-long tour of England.

Mithun was recently sent to Zimbabwe as a replacement for his senior state-mate R Vinay Kumar, who suffered a knee injury ahead of India's game against Sri Lanka in the tri-nation cricket series in Bulawayo.

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked C Ganapathy (right-handed batsman and paceman) as Abhimanyu Mithun's replacement, in the India 'A' team that is presently touring the UK," a statement from Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary N Srinivasan said.

The Indian team will start its tour with a three-day match against Yorkshire at Headingley Carnegie from June 5-7.

It will then play three three-day matches and two one-dayers against Scotland before a double-leg tri-series, featuring West Indies 'A' and the English Lions.
