Indian cricket team captain and goodwill ambassador of the Indian army, Mahendra Singh Dhoni reached Ladakh as a part of his two-day tour and inaugurated a newly-constructed army ground in Leh.
Dhoni was the chief guest of a friendly cricket match played between the Indian Army team and a team of ladakhi locals and inaugurated the army ground, which became the highest cricket ground in the world.
"I am fortunate that now I am able to be a part of Indian Army," said Dhoni.
"I am boosted to see the way the Jawans serve the nation in tough situations," he added.
During the tour, Dhoni also visited the Siachen glacier -- the highest battleground in the world.
The Indian captain had met the troops on the Line of Control on Monday. He interacted with officers of the Chinar Corps and also spoke to school children from downtown Srinagar.
