Former England seamer Caddick to retire
August 03, 2009 09:56 IST

Former England seamer Andy Caddick, who with 234 Test wickets ranks eighth on England's all-time list, said on Sunday he will retire from cricket at the end of this season.

The New Zealand-born bowler, 40, played 62 Tests between 1993 and 2003 and his 234 Test victims came at an average of 29.91.

He also played 54 one-day internationals.

"It's the right time to go," Caddick, who has played county cricket for Somerset since 1991, told Sky Sports News.

"I want to go while the body can still do it, rather than be put in a position where the body decides to give up."
