India ‘A’ and Australia ‘A’ cricketers wore black armbands and observed two minutes’ silence in memory of late former President APJ Abdul Kalam at the start of their second four-day unofficial Test in Chennai on Wednesday.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India posted a picture of the players wearing black armbands and observing silence at the M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, on Twitter.
Kalam, who was known as the people's President (2002-07) and 'missile man', passed away at the age of 83 on Monday after collapsing while delivering a lecture at IIM Shillong.
His mortal remains will be laid to rest in his home town of Rameswaram on Thursday.
