The ninth edition of the Twenty20 tournament kicks-off in Mumbai on Saturday, April 9, with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Pune.
Dhoni leads a star-studded side, which includes Australia skipper Steve Smith, South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis and the experienced Indian duo of Ajinkya Rahane and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Former New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming is the team’s chief coach, renewing his long and most successful partnership with Dhoni, his former Chennai Super Kings captain.
Interestingly, the team is abbreviated as RPSG, the same as the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group.
