India and England renew cricketing rivalry in a four-Test series, the first of which begins in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
India, having suffered a 0-4 series whitewash when they had visited England last July-August, are looking to avenge the humiliation in spin-friendly home conditions.
England have not won a Test series in India in nearly 28 years.
Rajneesh Gupta presents a statistical summary of Test encounters between the two countries.
