Broad and fellow bowlers were earlier accused of complacency after Pakistan's last four wickets added 195 runs, The Sun reports.
England fast bowling coach David Saker said: "When conditions are a bit tougher we must build pressure on the batsmen."
"There were definitely signs we were going through the motions. It showed a bit of complacency from the whole group. We need to work on that because, when we come up against Australia this winter, there will be times when the ball doesn't swing," he said.
