The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) has summoned a Pune-based printer after duplicate tickets for the recently called off One Day International between India-Australia at Fatorda stadium began surfacing for repayment.

After receiving several tickets bearing the same serial numbers the association was forced to call for an enquiry into the matter.

GCA secretary Prasad Fatarpekar told PTI that they will be able to comment on the issue only after hearing the printer, who was awarded contract of 25,000 tickets.

"It could be a printing error. This will be clarified only after an enquiry," Fatarpekar said, adding that they have sought an explanation from the printer.

The India-Australia ODI on October 24 was called off because of a soggy field due to rain. The GCA had promised to refund the tickets as not a single ball could be bowled.

The Jawaharlal Nehru stadium at Fatorda was chock-a-block with 22,536 people arriving to watch the match. GCA records show that out of them 14,320 had passes and 9,180 tickets.

Fatarpekar termed this ticket controversy as "disturbing".

"He is going to be penalised if he has made a mistake. We have not paid him fully yet," he said.

GCA president Dayanand Narvekar and a few other office- bearers were charge-sheeted after a duplicate ticket scam in the ODI between India and Australia held on April 6, 2001.
