India’s opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was an angry man on Saturday, as he lashed out at 12th man K L Rahul, who is also the reserve opener, on Day 3 of the fourth and final Test against South Africa, at the Feroz Shah Kotla, in New Delhi.
Birthday boy Dhawan played an important hand before lunch after India had lost the early wickets of Murali Vijay (3) and Rohit Sharma (0).
The incident unfolded when Dhawan was hit on the forearm by a rising delivery from Imran Tahir.
The Indian opener angrily gestured towards the dressing for a forearm guard. Drama erupted when Rahul and another reserve player Gurkeerat Singh took their time to come out with the guard.
Though it is not clear what Dhawan said, the homeboy looked miffed, and could be seen having a go at Rahul when he came out to the middle.
Following the on-field fireworks, Team Director Ravi Shastri also looked furious and was seen giving a hearing to the players in the dressing room.
However, the two team mates seemed to have patched up a little later as Dhawan even tapped Rahul on the shoulder.
