Five cricketers, including India's World Cup winning skipper M S Dhoni, were on Thursday shortlisted for the second edition of ICC's 'People's Choice Awards'.
The shortlist includes the likes of South African batsman Hashim Amla, Chris Gayle of West Indies, former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara and England's Jonathan Trott apart from Dhoni.
Cricket fans across the globe will have a unique opportunity to vote for the player of their choice via www.lgpeopleschoice.com.
Voting will be open until 16:30hrs IST (11:00am GMT) on August 25 and the winner will be announced on September 12 at the LG ICC Awards in London.
"The inaugural LG People's ICC Awards (2010), which was won by Sachin Tendulkar, proved hugely popular among fans across the globe and showed us just how much voting for their cricketing heroes meant," ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat, said.
"The LG ICC Awards is now a prestigious event in the cricketing calendar and we are delighted that fans will again be able to have their say on who should win one of the awards in 2011," he added.
