Dhoni blasts Mishra in nets to clear fitness doubts at World T20

March 18, 2014 22:01 IST

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Tuesday took leg-spinner Amit Mishra to the cleaners during a net session in Fatullah, clearing all the doubts about his fitness for the World T20.

Dhoni did not bat in India's warm-up match against Sri Lanka because of a small niggle in his right hand, but he seemed to be firing on all cylinders during the practice session.

The right-hander looked in complete control as he slammed Mishra for a lot of sixes and a flurry of boundaries, some of which dropped just short of the ropes.

Not even once was Mishra successful in troubling Dhoni, who also adopted an attacking approach against the pacers.

Most of the players looked jaded in the sapping afternoon heat as the Indians sweated it out in the nets ahead of their pratice match against England on Wednesday.

India, who won the World T20 in 2007, will play arch-rivals Pakistan in their first match of the tournament on Friday.

The entire Indian turned up for practice except for Varun Aaron and Ravi Ashwin, who were given a rest.
