In the fifth and final ODI of the series against Sri Lanka, Mahendra Singh Dhoni added yet another feather to his cap by becoming the first wicket-keeper to effect 100 stumpings in ODIs.

Dhoni was at level with Kumar Sangakkara with 99 stumpings.

Dhoni already holds the record of the most stumpings in all international cricket (Tests, ODIs and T20Is combined) with 161 such dismissals.

Most Stumpings in ODIs

 StumpingsMatchesMts / Stumping
M S Dhoni 100 301 3.01
Kumar Sangakkara 99 404 4.08
Romesh Kaluwitharana 75 189 2.52
Moin Khan 73 219 3.00
Adam Gilchrist 55 287 5.22
Nayan Mongia 44 140 3.18
Mushfiqur Rahim 40 176 4.40

Virat Kohli gave India its second clean sweep outside India with another hundred -- his 30th in this format which put him at level with Ricky Ponting.

Only Sachin Tendulkar has scored more hundreds than Kohli in one-day internationals as is clear from the following table:

Most Hundreds in ODIs

 100sInnsInns / 100
Sachin Tendulkar 49 452 9.22
Virat Kohli 30 186 6.20
Ricky Ponting 30 365 12.17
Sanath Jayasuriya 28 433 15.46
Hashim Amla 25 153 6.12
Kumar Sangakkara 25 380 15.20
A B de Villiers 24 213 8.88
Sourav Ganguly 22 300 13.64
Chris Gayle 22 264 12.00
Tillakaratne Dilshan 22 303 13.77
Herschelle Gibbs 21 240 11.43
Saeed Anwar 20 244 12.20

The rate at which Kohli keeps scoring hundred after hundred is just mind-boggling.

It has taken him only 186 innings to score his 30th ODI hundred.

Sachin's 30th hundred came in his 267th innings while Ponting took 349 innings for his 30 hundreds.

Virat has scored a hundred every 6.20 innings on an average.

Among all players who have scored at least 10 hundreds in this format, only one -- Hashim Amla -- has taken fewer innings per hundred.

Highest Frequency of Hundreds

Joe Root 10 87 8.70
A B de Villiers 24 213 8.88
Sachin Tendulkar 49 452 9.22

One aspect where no one is anywhere near Virat is his ability to score hundred after hundred in a chase.

Ideally, chasing a target should be more demanding. But such has been Kohli's mindset that he seems to enjoy the pressure of chasing more than the freedom to bat first.

19 out of his 30 hundreds have come in chases.

His tally is two more than Sachin Tendulkar in 126 fewer innings!

Most Hundreds in chases in ODIs

Virat Kohli 19 106 5.58
Sachin Tendulkar 17 232 13.65

Herschelle Gibbs 8 126 15.75
Adam Gilchrist 8 130 16.25
Ricky Ponting 8 153 19.13

It will be interesting to see the players who have taken the fewest innings for each hundred.

As we know the most number of hundreds any player has got are 49.

Virat has been the fastest to score hundred number 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30.

It is now only a matter of time that he starts moving up in the ladder, displacing Tendulkar from being the quickest to score hundred number 31 onward.

During the series against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli also achieved a rare feat. He has now scored more hundreds than his age!

Sachin Tendulkar is the only other player to accomplish this feat.

Sachin scored his 28th hundred when he was still 27.

Virat now has 30 hundreds at the age of 28.
