Delhi Daredevils might have suffered narrow defeats in the first two matches of the Indian Premier League, extending their losing streak to 11 which started last year, but all-rounder Angelo Mathews on Tuesday said the team is still hopeful of a turnaround.

Delhi lost to Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in their first two games of IPL 8, losing off the last delivery in both the games.

"We got so close in the last couple of games. We could have won the Chennai game and the last game as well. We got so close to the line but just couldn't hold on. It's still the start of the season, we can still turn it around and the boys are doing really good, the environment is great. We are enjoying our cricket and that's how it should be. We will try and bounce back and bounce back hard," Mathews said.

Asked about his own role in the side, Sri Lanka all-rounder Mathews feels Twenty20 cricket is all about enjoying the game.

"T20 is all about enjoying yourself, having fun. You can't put a lot of pressure on ourselves individually. We just have to go out there and enjoy.

"Not only me, all the boys are equally good and we can turn the game around at any given opportunity. We just have to go out there, enjoy ourselves, be positive and impressive. We just need that one win."

Talking about the Daredevils team combination, he said, "Obviously it depends on the opposition and the wicket we are playing. We've got players who can handle different situations and different conditions and
different bowling attacks.

"And you got to be flexible with your batting order especially in T20 cricket because you don't know what situation you may have to face and you have to send the best player to try and deal with the situation.

"We have our combinations flexible and that's the way it should be, especially when you are batting, the top seven batters have to be ready, when given the opportunity to try and prove yourself, go and enjoy and play positive cricket."
