Dalmiya may contest BCCI polls

September 20, 2006

Former Board of Control for Cricket in India chief Jagmohan Dalmiya on Tuesday said he is seriously considering fighting the Board elections due later this month.

"I am seriously considering to fight the BCCI polls. By tomorrow evening I will decide on it," Dalmiya said on Tuesday.

A team of the Economic Wing of Mumbai Crime Branch arrived in Kolkata and searched the Cricket Association of Bengal premises on Tuesday evening. Later they went to Bhavani Bhavan and asked Dalmiya to come for half an hour.

This is the third time the Mumbai Economic Wing special officers have come to Kolkata to interrogate Dalmiya and investigate matters related to alleged misappropriation of funds of PILCOM account.

"There is nothing new in it. They [the BCCI ruling regime] try to keep me busy whenever there is something big, so that I cannot concentrate on my job properly," he said.

"This happened before the CAB polls and it is happening now again. It has to stop somewhere."

"Whatever the questions were, it had nothing new in it. It was a mere repetition. So now I am thinking of speaking to them in the language they understand," he added.
