The Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday announced 30 probables for this year's ICC Champions Trophy to be played in India.

"The squad would be trimmed to 15 by the end of this month. The deadline for submission of the squad is September 7 and hopefully we would be able to comply with the advice well in advance," PCB director board operations Saleem Altaf said.

The injured pace trio of Shoaib Akhtar, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and Mohammad Asif, who have missed Pakistan's tour of England so far, were named in the provisional list which also includes the names of forgotten batsmen Yasir Hameed, Bazid Khan and Asim Kamal.

The selectors also included uncapped Shahid Yousuf, Tahir Khan, Abdul Rehman, Mansoor Amjad, Akhtar Ayub and Samiullah Khan Niazi.

Pakistan is grouped with South Africa, New Zealand and a qualifier. Pakistan, whose best performance was a semi-final finish in 2000 will open its campaign on October 17 in Jaipur against a qualifier.

Pakistan will meet New Zealand on October 25 at Mohali, which will also host Pakistan's final league game against South Africa on October 27.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka also named a 30-man provisional squad for the tournament.

The final team will be announced after the tri-series featuring India and South Africa on August 29.
