To keep memories of India's recent World Cup triumph alive, the local civic body has decided to set up a cricket gallery at the Andheri Sports Complex.
"We have decided to set up an art gallery primarily to preserve the memories of cricket. The gallery will have photographs of special moments from the World Cup, special video clips and memoirs of the players. The gallery would contain memorabilia like bats, pads, gloves, caps, helmet used by players," city Mayor Shraddha Jadhav told reporters.
"The ground floor of the Andheri Sports Complex is lying vacant so we would set up the gallery there," she said.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will invite tenders and then appoint a contractor for the same at the earliest, she added.
