BCCI threatens to ban misbehaving Tiwary

Taking a serious view of his dressing room misdemeanour, the Indian Cricket Board has told Bengal player Manoj Tiwary that he will be banned from playing domestic cricket, if he will not behave well.

Irate after being adjudged leg-before during the East Zone One-day match against Jharkhand on February 12, Tiwary abused umpires and smashed glass window pane, mirror, switch boards and even dustbins in the dressing room at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack.

Learning about the incident, the BCCI shot a letter to the cricketer and also a copy of the same the to Cricket Association of Bengal joint secretary Arun Mitra, warning the cricketer.

The letter states that if does not mend his ways in future he risks being suspended.

It also reminds Tiwary of a similar act of indiscipline during a Twenty20 match last year when he was fined 80 per cent of his match fee by the match referee.

"He has an India cap and is a talented cricketer but this sort of behaviour is not acceptable. We have sent him a letter, hope he understands," Ratnakar Shetty, BCCI CAO, said.

Tiwary has also been asked to pay for the damages in the dressing room.

The match referee had slapped him with a one-match ban and docked 100 per cent of his match fee.
