WI T20Is: Rohit, Kohli out; Jaiswal, Varma picked

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member squad led by Hardik Pandya for the T20I series against West Indies. 

The Senior Men’s Selection Committee, led by newly appointed chairman Ajit Agarkar, on Wednesday picked India’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies to be played in the Caribbean Islands and in Florida, USA.

While Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were missing from the T20I squad, Ravi Bishnoi and Sanju Samson made a comeback to the side.

Meanwhile Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma and Yashasvi Jaiswal earned their maiden T20I call-up. 

 

The T20I series will get underway on August 3rd, with the final match of the five-game series being played on August 13th.

India’s T20I squad: Ishan Kishan (wk), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Surya Kumar Yadav (VC), Sanju Samson (wk), Hardik Pandya (C), Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar.

India’s T20Is against West Indies:

Aug 3: 1st T20I: Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad: 8:00pm IST

Aug 6: 2nd T20I: Providence Stadium, Guyana: 8:00pm IST

Aug 8: 3rd T20I: Providence Stadium, Guyana: 8:00pm IST

Aug 12: 4th T20I: Central Broward Regional Park Stadium, Lauderhill, Florida: 8:00pm IST

Aug 13: 5th T20I: Central Broward Regional Park Stadium, Lauderhill, Florida: 8:00pm IST
