The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has roped in the services of former India captain, Mohd Azharuddin to coach its team even as their Indian counterparts are still searching for a suitable player to handle the country's national squad.

Confirming that Azharuddin would be the coach, mainly for the batsmen in the squad, considered a rung below the England Test team, TA Sekar, Chief Coach of the MRF Pace Academy told PTI that he would arriveĀ in Chennai on Monday evening for a two or three day stint.

Azharuddin, who has played in 99 Tests and 334 One-Day Internationals, would hone the skills of the batsmen at the MRF Pace Foundation inĀ Chennai.

The Hyderabadi, one of the most successful Indian captains was banned on December 2000 by the Cricket Board for alleged involvement in the Hanzie Cronje match-fixing case.

He had earlier trained English batsmen, including Stuart Broad, Ravi Bopara and Owais Shah..
