Australia's Farhart to be Team India's new physio
July 24, 2015

Australia's Patrick Farhart is set to join the Indian cricket team as its new physiotherapist.

He will be part of three new additions in the support staff which will join the Sri Lanka-bound squad for at least a year.

Farhart, who has almost three decades of professional experience, was roped in to replace Nitin Patel, who recently resigned due to personal reasons, reports ESPNcricinfo.

He will be joined by Shankar Basu and Arun Kanade who will be on board as strength and conditioning expert and masseur respectively.

All three have been handed a one-year contract, Kanade having taken up the responsibility in Zimbabwe earlier this month.

Farhart, who has been associated with IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, and Basu, currently the Royal Challengers Bangalore trainer, will take charge in Sri Lanka in the three-Test series, starting August 12.
