South Africa have brought back spinner Imran Tahir in one of two changes to their team for this week's second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval.

Tahir was left out of the side for the drawn opening test in Brisbane to make way for debutant Rory Kleinveldt in a four-pronged pace attack.

The other change from the Gabba team sees Faf du Plessis come in for all-rounder JP Duminy, who was sidelined for six months when he ruptured his Achilles tendon during training.

The second Test starts on Thursday.

South Africa's No. 1 Test ranking is on the line in the three-match series, which concludes next week at the WACA in Perth.
