Former captain and fast bowling great Wasim Akram has been included in an inquiry committee constituted by the Pakistan Cricket Board to probe the team's disastrous performance in Australia.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Operating Officer Wasim Bari on Sunday said Akram has been invited to join the six-member committee that will submit a detailed report on the causes behind the poor show in Australia.
Pakistan were whitewashed in both the Test and ODI series before losing the only Twenty20 international.
"The committee will hold its first meeting by Friday and decide on a course of action on how to conduct the probe and when to submit its findings to the board," Bari said.
The PCB has given the committee, which is headed by Bari until end of February to submit its findings and report.
Sources said the PCB decided to invite Akram in the committee after former Test batsman Haroon Rasheed declined to be on it for various reasons.
Akram, one of Pakistan's greatest fast bowlers, has generally kept himself away from the PCB affairs and has only conducted a fast bowlers camp on their request.
The probe committee also includes former Pakistan team manager, Yawar Saeed, PCB director cricket operations, Zakir Khan, PCB legal advisor, Tafazzul Rizvi.
